Guest Picks: Storage for Everything
Living in a studio apartment longer than expected has me thinking about storage. A lot. I love having my things (clothing, shoes, props, craft supplies, dishes, etc.) easily accessible, but let's face it, everything can't be all over the place all at once. I need attractive units to hold and hide away almost everything if I want any floor space whatsoever. When I store things, sometimes I want them on display, but sometimes I need to hide them away. Here are a few of my favorite options for storage for almost every room in the home. — Rebecca from A Daily Something
Afromosia Cabinet/Partition - $1,749
There has to be room for plants in my home, and how great do they look all nestled together on this Truck unit that will store away even more goodies?
Kansai Bookcase - $1,298
What an ingenious shape! I would love to display books and some of my favorite trinkets on this iron and mango wood bookcase from Anthropologie.
Factory Locker - GBP 995
The possibilities are endless with a locker. It can hide away mops, brooms or vacuums, or it can even hold spare linens. This gorgeous unit could hide away almost anything.
Decker Bookshelf - $698
Tall shelving units are the best use of space in a small studio apartment. I love the casters and the mini drawers on this Decker bookshelf from Anthropologie.
1960s Midcentury Modern Black Wire Magazine Rack by The Pretend Den
I would love to stow away my most current magazines in this midcentury wire magazine rack.
Industrial Steel and Mango Console Table - GBP 415
This console is great for three reasons: it's on wheels, it has two levels, and the dimensions would allow me to place it in a narrow entryway.
Drawer Boxes, Zinc, Tall - GBP 130
What I love most about this unit is that it can be used either horizontally or vertically — and in any room, for any purpose!
Rotary Coat Rack
One of my biggest pet peeves with coat racks is having difficulty reaching things on the far side. This rotating rack from Pottery Barn wins on form and functionality.
Downtown Basket on Wheels - GBP 185
I would use this wire basket on wheels in the bathroom or bedroom for soiled clothes. It's a lovely option for a laundry basket.
Library High Chest - $3,752.40
This high chest is one of my all-time favorites because of the lack of space it consumes. Plus, it's just perfect for storing files, clothes, winter accessories, etc.
Olivia Dresser - EUR 650
Because I have no closet space for my soon-to-be-born daughter, this dresser is perfect. It has lots of drawer space and a rack to hang her pretty little clothes on.
Midcentury Nightstand, Wood - $249
This is the perfect size for a tiny bedroom. It has drawers to hide away my uglier bedside necessities and gorgeously long legs.
Grid Wall Bin - $39
This wall bin is perfect for organizing my severely limited bathroom counter.
Lakeside Reclaimed Wood Towel Shelf - $69
No medicine cabinet? This reclaimed wood shelf and towel rack is ideal for hiding away bathroom essentials and displaying hand towels.
1940s Numbered Storage Locker
With this 1940s storage locker, never again will I have to guess where I put away arts and crafts supplies.
Vintage Style Filing Tray
I wouldn't be able to resist filing away my important papers in this vintage-style filing tray. I love the unfinished wood.
Tray Table, Wood - GBP 44.95
Tray tables are lifesavers in small spaces. I'd use this when I have company, and then either fold it up and stow it away or use it as a side table.
Rustic Wooden Boxes - GBP 35
These wooden boxes would be perfect stacked in my kitchen to hide away linens, canned foods, dry goods, etc.
Zinc Metal Letter Post Rack - GBP 29.95
This is a lovely way to display and organize important papers and receipts. It'd work in my kitchen or work area.
Little Boxes Wall Organizer - $98
This is a great way to save counter and cabinet space in the kitchen. I'd put all my spices in this adorable wall organizer.
Unique Galvanized Metal Mug Tree - GBP 65
This is a lovely kitchen storage option for my mugs and small glasses.
Kitchen Market Shelves - GBP 300
I'm lacking serious storage space in the kitchen, so this shelving unit would be perfect for my big pots and pans. It would even allow me to sit down for a quick bite to eat, or I could use the top as extra food prep/counter space.
