In this ideabook i want to show you some of my ideas to change my livingroom for a Christmas dinner with my family.

As a collector of vintage furniture, lighting and home decor I am in the lucky position to be able to use my collection for events like this.
We don't give huge parties for Christmas. Just a cozy dinner with our family. So we don't really change the whole livingroom. Normally our livingroom looks like this.

The round table is too small for us and our guests so we replace it with the garden table. It's a wooden table so make sure you take it inside in time to dry.

The Eames chairs we normally use are a bit too colorful for our Christmas design scheme so we replace them with white series 7 chairs (designed by Arne Jacobsen). We only have four so we combine them with two red Eames shells to match the color scheme of the table decoration.

We recently replaced our white PH5 pendant lamp with a purple one above the dinner table but for Christmas we put the white one back.

I decided to use a red and white color scheme for the Christmas table decoration. My collection of white ceramic vases fits in beautifully.

The cups and saucers are produced in the 20's by a famous dutch pottery. They are quite rare so we have to make sure no accidents happen :-)

In the back you see an original paper Herrnhuter stern.

We have it hanging there the whole year round so no need to change that for our Christmas party.

Normally we have a Christmas tree standing in front of the fireplace with the Christmas presents underneath but for this photo shoot it was a bit too early to buy one. We always buy a real Nordman Fir because we don't like the artificial ones.

Another picture of the table decoration with my German ceramic vases. They are from the 60s and the 70s and produced by different German companies.

On the left you see a candlestick from Finnish company Iittala.

On a little cupboard I made a display of my candlesticks with an antique picture frame that I painted white as a focal point.

Normally this corner looks like this.

This is a vase designed by the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius for Ikea.

I decorated it with some willow branches and paper stars.

I always keep the most beautiful Christmas cards I receive and every year I put them on display like this.

The red berries go very well with the white of the little vases. I intentionally kept the decoration simple and clean.

The paper stars are hanging from the ceiling on fishing line. We cut them ourselves with no special design so every star is different. The line needs some time to straighten. Make sure you get the thinnest line you can get. The one we used for the photo shoot is a actually bit too thick.

Last picture of this shoot with an overview of the table. I used old red oil lamps for a vintage feel.

Hope you enjoyed this little ideabook for Christmas. If you like it please vote for me by leaving a comment.

I love how there are all these different elements, but they blend into one cohesive neat design!

I love the cups and saucers! It's wonderful how you've combined an eclectic mix of objects, but tied them together so nicely using just a few colours. Lovely!
