Outdoor garden & structure ideas for our farm
I have a space where an old hardwood door is still existing in our laundry room; I have a hundred ideas contemplating for how to create a space that includes it but not as it is now- an unused entrance. Those succulents in a bed trick are real. I adore this, wondering if it would be possible for even just part of the entire door; need light from outside into laundry room. Thanks! I buy these plants as often as not, and find many uses. Never thought of this! Thanks!
beautiful, I see a distant shed w/ people around it, and can tell it is used for a purpose- it's similar, but half the size of our old hen house that was on the property originally and buit along w/ another roosting separate room, where the chickens had a wire space to come and go within protected fencing. Now, without the broken down fencing and building that was in worse condition, our's is ok to move forward if we like, depending on our contractor's opinion and experience w/ old structures rotted out and not getting any better! I want to use our old farmhouse windows removed and I kept those not broken, thinking they may serve a purpose. Now I think a wall, w/ a slanting ceiling w/highest end facing E- N/E, that has only an old door and the framing for possibly adding a wall of glass. That way it would be a workshop, garden and tool shed for my projects, old hen sitting boxes still, lol, so cute, and an extremely old but strong door made from wood of a Confederate bunker dating back to the Civil War, the property owner and his son who built the original old farmhouse builder kept to use and I am grateful and hope to keep it indoors now, replaced by a re-purposed door and wan...
LOVE this safe coop, roosting area, and how solid yet classic-farm the structure is built, also like light coming in from the windows above!
Very creative treatment of the building- love the vintage chairs, collect them as they get passed down!
Chicken coop and use of the old windows as I have thought about.
cover back farm patio
So sweet a chicken house!
love everything about it! This is why I would like to create an outdoor area with our old chicken coop preserving as much as we can; adding onto it is a cool idea, using it for storing gardening is excellent, put a potting bench inside and it would be perfect
Gorgeous; I would love to have a simple Pergola entry w/ columns behind our farmhouse as the entrance, even using the present facade and stone patio, build around it!
Farmhouse: idea for back patio entrance, w/ coverage and sense of grounding which is needed ; this is a similar look as I pictured it
The wall treatment w/ use of water features, and landscaping w/ lush foliage, as the designer said in this article(Copper outdoors and inside this unique design/renovation).
roof allowing for solar and view to the sky; copper for outside of house
Copper for walls! And I love the use of the rain chains made of copper~ beautiful and would fit into a unique spot at our farm, even our old chicken coop/project/to be, or around the barn and garage
pergola style; outdoor "rooms"; coverage with simplicity
Pergola overhead patio provides structure w/creative opportunities for an entrance, collecting the photos praying someone will appear and do it for me!
up-lighting for around house/gardens
interesting covered area for back entrance
outdoor room, over back entrance
Farm patio would love a cover w/ nature all around
solution for patio without a roof
fire pit on stone for protection and designated space
Beach in particular, or even at the farm : for small area in the small garden near the back porch especially, The black water feature (for level area or in-ground) offers option for having a small water feature, inexpensive , & soothing fountain driven by simple pump; add stones, lilies, & put in little fish to prevent mosquitos. Also would like a lotus.
Same, but at night with nice lighting and privacy features w/ foliage notable.
This provides a surround and ideas for structure, and overhead coverage could be partial to take in sky, for an outdoor hot-tub possibilities. Still a choice of how to create view out as well as privacy.
Farm: note how this space for a hot-tub/tub in next photo utilizes over-head protection, also can have this flooring...could also work with the hot tub we have OR the old iron tub in our field, needing re-enameling.
Like all of her ideas and pots and plants!
Colors of turquoise pots are my choice lately, too, and use quite a bit of container gardening
Farm: front porch W/ columns & it's classic. Ceiling is great as is the lighting, that blends old w/ new fixtures/ceiling spots.
I could do this addition to my raised bed.
Beach: raised gardens are very easily tended and nice for small place, or even around porches, outdoor full-sun areas even at farm. I like the use of this picture's space for ideas. Helps a lot if you have to work mindfully w/ any injuries, like back issues, too....my friend who built it made sure the edges are actually wide enough to sit a bit on them while I work.
Farm: outdoor shower by orvis co., $279, good for either home, especially farm, as we do need one. Really simple and attractive.
Simple, elegant patio. I like the size and the one attractive table & chairs create a place to sit with family & friends
