Love the inexpensive and clean/unique look of the bottom of the mantel - the grapevine with hanging ornaments. I live in North Ca wine country, so access to grapevines are easy..and you could change the color of the ornaments to suit your overall decor plan. To make winter grapevines pliable, soak in hot water until soft enough to bend. Draw a design on a piece of inexpensive Sheetrock, attach stems to Sheetrock with t-pins in main areas. (minimal) use craft wire to attach stems to each other where needed., Let stems dry/harden, remove t-pins. can spray stems with lacquer, adhesive and glitter, etc.
The candy canes on the candles, easy and inexpensive to make - could use any color of candy canes, etc
The burlap bows
The candles on log bases, the 'snow' inside the hurricanes combined with the red berries...classy cabin look.
I have a box of old canning jars and an old wooden wine crate...what a simple, great idea!
Draping down on either side of mantle...
The red books, the pheasant feathers, overall a beautiful look that comes together seamlessly!
