Add elegance to a room with a crystal chandelier!
There are many beautiful new crystal chandeliers available online or in the stores but if you want a really good deal look at flea markets and garage sales. Many people take them out of their homes and replace them with something more modern so you can sometimes find them for a steal.
If you find a nice one but don't care for the metal finish, you can easily remove the crystals and spray paint the fixture, then just clean and replace the crystals. Depending on the room you are putting it in, you could paint it white, black or even hot pink. The possibilities are endless!
A chandelier can be adjusted so it doesn't have to be hard-wired into the ceiling. This one in my bedroom is hung from a hook and plugged into a wall outlet. There are even dimmers that you can add to the plug!
A chandelier doesn't have to be centered in a room. I've added one to the right of my kitchen sink.
There are also color crystal prisms you can buy and add to your chandeliers. The green in this one really looks great in this kitchen.
If I ever am lucky enough to have a walk-in closet, I'm going to add a crystal chandelier!
Don't forget to put your chandelier on a dimmer switch, it's the only way to go! Who wouldn't love to sit in a bubble bath and look up at a beautiful crystal chandelier?
