Showers to Spend Hours In
I work as a blogger for businesses although I do a variety of different types of writing. I particularly enjoy writing about all aspects of design and creativity. I think that your home should reflect your personality and that it should change as you change. More about me at www.kathrynvercillo.com and http://diaryofasmartchick.com.

There are a lot of people who love to sink into a luxurious bathtub. They settle into the warm water with a good book and a glass of wine. It's spa-like and relaxing. And yes, I am one of those people. However, I can also appreciate a really great shower. In fact, I think that a great shower is even better that a terrific bathtub.
What makes a shower great? For me, it has to be a place where I can sit and relax for hours just like I might in a bathtub. That means it probably needs to have a seating area in it (or at least enough room for me to comfortably sit down on the tiles). It needs to have ample light, a great shower head and an aesthetically appealing design.
There are a lot of great showers out there. Finding the one that is right for you takes some time. You have to learn about yourself. Do you like enclosed, dark tiled showers or open glass showers? Do you want one shower head or many? Discovering these likes and dislikes is fun if you get the chance. And believe me, when you find the ideal shower you're never going to want to take a bath again!

| The first thing that caught my eye about this shower was the great black and white design that is carried throughout the entire bathroom. That alone wouldn't be enough to keep me in this shower for hours at a time, though. What would do it is the number of different shower head options available here in this shower. Splendid! |
Ah, speaking of great showerheads, isn't that a rain shower I see on the top of this space? I've only had the opportunity to use one of those a couple of times but they're wonderful. Of course, you have the regular shower head here as well along with a seating area and a lot of room to move around in so this is an all-around good shower with the added perk of that additional shower head.
There is something really great about this symmetrical space, isn't there? The pretty marble and the seat in the shower make this a place where I could relax until the hot water ran out. And I love the fact that the toilet is separate from the shower so people can come use the bathroom while I'm in there without bothering me a bit. Great design idea!
I have to confess that this design appeals to the voyeur in me a bit! Beyond that, though, I think there's something great about an open shower design. You can see what's going on in the room around you. With a fire roaring in the fireplace and some candles burning around the room, I think this would be a great place to take a romantic shower.
If the last image was all about the voyeur in me then this one would have to be about being an exhibitionist. You could take your cozy shower in privacy if you wanted. Or you could sit on that corner seat and let someone peek at you through the window! Okay, in all seriousness though, I think that a view of nature through the window of your shower is a great treat to make you feel like you're bathing in the outdoors while enjoying all of the comfort of an indoor shower.
If you really wanted to enjoy that feeling that you're showering outdoors then this shower would be ideal. The shower itself seems pretty simple but you could definitely enjoy the nature aspect of the space. If you have a great private yard right outside of your bathroom then this setup seems like an interesting choice.
This shower caught me off guard. I think it's because it has a touch of masculinity as well as a touch of feminity. The tiles and the wood outside of the shower seem kind of manly. The shower curtain and curved white accent pieces are decidedly girly. I like the overall effect this creates. Do you?
There's something really appealing about the design of this shower. The tile design is simple but the color choice is unique. It makes me feel like this bathroom is really fun. I could see doing some daydreaming in this shower. They say that you do your best thinking in the shower after all!
Here is another fun shower design created with tile. A lot of people would probably find this too busy. I think I could find a lot of inspiration in this space, though. Plus I like the little niche cutout for shampoo and whatnot.
This shower is different from most of the ones that I like. I tend to enjoy bright, sunny, airy showers. However, there's something appealing about the dark textured quality of this stone and tile shower. It feels like a unique spa experience in here. I like it.
