Whether it’s getting the most out of floor space, increasing functionality in a room or just balancing an overall look, the corner bed may the answer you’re looking for. The first possible placement is pushing the head of the bed into the corner. Don’t think of the space between the bed and corner as dead space; use it for decorative accents or a functional addition. In this example, a plant adds height and texture to the space.

| Another option is pushing both the top and side of the bed into the corner. If this is the best possible layout for you, turn it into a cozy sanctuary with the use of multiple pillows. A soft bed against cold, hard walls can appear harsh, but disguising that transition with pillows will make all the difference. |

Twin beds pushed into corners are ideal for kids' and guest rooms. In general, this layout will maximize walking space between the beds, making it easier to maneuver through the room. In this picture, beds with tall posts enhance the height and add architectural dimension to the space.

ruffslitch AWESO-O-O-O-O-OME!!!! I LOVE them ALL! Even if I don't like the modern styles I still love the bed placements! SO many useful ideas for us po' folk who don't have scads of money for huge rooms! Thanks for sharing!

catswaller I once had a 1920's cottage with zero storage. By placing my bed in the corner at an angle and using a curtain behind the bed placed from the ceiling at the same angle, I created storage behind the bed in the "dead zone"...great for suitcases, which also held my out of season clothing and spare blankets!

Toronto Designers I never liked the corner bed on an angle - it just seems so odd for positioning night stands and it takes up so much room. Tucked into the corner works though - love the twin bed spaces.

Sasharees Having a bed in a corner against a wall does appeal to me to make the most of a room's space, but it is just so difficult to make the bed when it is in this position that I never end up laying out a bedroom that way.

suzoh I think this would work for my small room. I wonder if it would make it easier to make the bed if I put it on casters and had the headboard attached to the wall. Then I could slide it out when I needed to reach the wall-side.

Gary Porter This is such a space saver when you have a queen-size bed in a small room. Somehow it tricks the eye. The bed doesn't have to be at an exact 45-degree angle--you may have to shove the bed around a bit before you get the exact proportions you want. Two examples below, one country-style from my ranch house and another in my city condo. Tip: a round bed-side table give you more space and more options.
