Using Candles to Make your Home Warmer (one comment)
I think that a dining room table is one of the best places to put candles in your home. After all, who doesn't love a candlelit dinner?! What interests me here is the candle holders which seem to enhance the light of the candles and really fit a dinner table theme.

The dining room is a great place for candles that warm up the whole house for everyone. In contrast, candles in the bathroom are something you can enjoy privately to escape from everyone else in your home. I love turning off the bathroom lights and taking a candlelit bath. What an indulgence!

The fireplace here is what really makes this space warm. However, you're not going to want to make a fire every night of the season. That's why it's so great to put some stylish candles on your fireplace mantle. Light them instead on nights when a fire feels like too much work and you'll still be able to cozy up here with some warm light.

I wish that I had the space in my home to hang an amazing chandelier like this one that holds candles in it instead of light bulbs! It is charming and interesting and historic. I even love the warm glow of the candles' reflection on the wall here!

My house might not be spacious enough to handle that amazing chandelier but I could definitely install something like these candle-filled light fixtures on the walls. Simple and yet raelly elegant and warm. I love this idea!

I think it's really important to remember that candles can be used outdoors as well as inside. A cozy back yard space doesn't feel nearly as cozy if it's lit with outdoor floodlights. Light it with candles instead for a special evening outside.

Wow - talk about a display of candles there! You have every size all together so that they create a piece of artwork without even being lit. This is a great way to store candles so they decorate the home when they aren't in use. I like the fact that these are all the same color but I wonder how neat it would look if they were all different?!

A candle display doesn't have to be elaborate at all. Here we have three simple candles that are identical in shape and style but different in height. This is just one more interesting piece added to a room filled with lots of little things to look at. It's not the most warming effect of all but it does add to the total warm appeal of the room.

You don't have to have different colored candles to create a bold look. You can use different colored candle holders instead. I have a collection of candle holders in different colors which I change out with the season. These colder months are all about warm tones that hold fragrant autumn candles.

I think something to remember when using candles in your home decor is that they make it really easy to create symmetry in a space. The effect is enhanced here because of the symmetrical lights on either side of the mirror.

Love this idea book, thanks! Your mantle candles got me thinking how cool it would be to group many sizes of candles -- maybe in a warm color -- in the space in front of the fireplace, to evoke the idea of a fire.
