Take a straight pin, and pin it to the wreath form as shown here. Fill in a row of red tufts, pinning in the same manner and working the fabric close together. Follow each row of red with two rows of white to create a wreath just like Heather's, or get creative and mix in green or another holiday hue!
Tip from Heather: Don't be stingy on the fabric! The more full this wreath is, the better it'll look.
But what other color? Vivid blue would be too Fourth-of-July. Green is a bit cliched. Probably you're right - silver or gold.
