Guest Picks: A Cozy Holiday Fete
Entertain elegantly with 20 home pieces to help perfect your winter party
Currently Featured in: US
I love hosting get-togethers at home with close friends, especially in the winter when it is all about getting comfy and cozy! This month, I have rounded up 20 of my favorite finds to inspire your next party. From European traditions like placing a warm blanket on the back of each chair, to a fresh take on all-American s'mores, I hope everyone will find something to love. — Laura from Lolalina
Heartsease Bowl - $10
I would serve warming chestnut soup in these beautifully patterned earthenware bowls. Of course, they would also be just right for sipping cafe au lait or hot cocoa.
Classic Antler Blanket - $98
It is common to see throw blankets draped over the backs of chairs in outdoor cafes in Europe once the weather turns chilly. How lovely would it be to adopt this tradition for a cozy party at home? I love these antler blankets; they are thick and made from repurposed wool.
Bubbly Dot Saucer Pair - $80
I know flutes are supposed to be better at holding champagne bubbles, but I can't resist the vintage appeal of these saucer-style glasses from Kate Spade. Polka dots with my bubbly? Yes, please!
Simon Pearce Madison Carafe - $150
I love the casual feel a carafe of wine brings to the table. This one is hand-blown and super elegant, yet still dishwasher safe — amazing!
Figurative Owl Mug - $10
Gather a flock of these little owl mugs on a tray next to the stove top, and let guests serve their own hot toddies.
GC Hot/Cold Glass - $34
These glasses are so chic for holding hot drinks. And they get bonus points for protecting your fingers with a band of cool-to-the-touch stainless steel. They're genius!
Mercury Glass Hurricane - $58
I would love to place several of these gorgeous hurricanes around my living room for a party. Mercury glass looks so festive with twinkling lights.
Mountain Wreath - $68
A fresh and fragrant green wreath to hang on the front door is always welcome. You could always try to DIY it, but if you are short on time, this one from Terrain looks especially lush.
Anthology Magazine, Issue 5 - $12
I always like to set out a few interesting magazines and coffee table books for guests to leaf through. Anthology Magazine is one of my current favorites. The stunning photography and richly detailed articles will surely earn it a spot in your permanent collection.
Aginares Paper Napkins - $14
An oversize artichoke illustration elevates these paper napkins to dining table status.
Maple Candy Dish - $160
These petite, hand-turned maple candy dishes from Herriott Grace would make any dessert feel really special — even if you just picked it up at the grocery store. For bonus points, pick up a pack of Herriott Grace cake flags too.
Almoco Flatware 5-Piece Setting - $50
The clean lines of this gleaming gold flatware keep the set feeling fresh and modern. Can you imagine how awesome this would look on a holiday table? Drool, drool, drool!
Large Round Bowl - GBP 85
Every table needs a great salad bowl, and this one from TOAST has an organic shape that would set off food beautifully.
Fountain 4 Tier Cream Ceramic Vase - $240
This vase is perfect for those of you as clueless about flower arranging as I am. Simply trim down a bunch of flowers and plunk some in each layer of the "fountain." It will look gorgeous with zero effort.
Jigger Measuring Beaker - $3.95
Add a little nerd-chic to your bar cart with this measuring beaker. And as a leftie myself, I appreciate the twin pouring spouts.
Sheepskin Rug - GBP 99
I can't think of anything more appealing on a cold winter night than sinking my feet into this amazing sheepskin rug while sipping a warm drink. Can you?
Candy Cane Doughnut Pan - $10.95
I like adding something a little kitschy to any party — something that will spark conversation and get people smiling. And come on, who wouldn't like candy cane–shaped doughnuts?
Marshmallow Twig Roaster - $18
Try out this special marshmallow roasting tool over a fire bowl in your backyard and voila — s'mores without camping!
Hammered Copper Fire Bowl - $318.99
Oh, you don't have a fire bowl in your backyard? Neither do I, but I do have my eye on this one. The hammered copper is stunning.
