Upon entering the penthouse the light and dark contrast continues. The exposed ceiling structure is stained to mimic the 1st floor's "tarred" ceiling. The reclaimed fir plank floor is painted a light vanilla cream. And, the hand plastered concrete fireplace is the visual anchor that all the rooms radiate off of. Less is More modern interior approach includes simple hardwood floor,single wall solid black laminate kitchen cabinetry and kitchen island, clean straight open space layout. A lack of clutter and bold accent color palettes tie into the minimalist approach to modern design.

The focal point of the kitchen is without a doubt the large 6 oven black Aga. Traditionally associated with country homes, it’s really lovely to see an Aga in a London family home. The canopy was designed especially for this room: it catches the eye and conceals the extractor. Painted in the same bold black as the island, it helps to anchor the entire design. The clients chose the antiqued distressed effect mirror splashback, which has a softer feel than plain mirror, but still accentuates the light feel of the room. The symmetry of this kitchen is designed to create a balanced look, while the detailing is simple to add to the contemporary feel. The bold colour palette of the kitchen and dining area perfectly suits the space and is softened with accents of natural smoked oak and antique brass. Photo Credit: Paul Craig

The grand entry sets the tone as you enter this fresh modern farmhouse with high ceilings, clerestory windows, rustic wood tones with an air of European flavor. The large-scale original artwork compliments a trifecta of iron furnishings and the multi-pendant light fixture.

Inspiration for a huge rustic guest medium tone wood floor bedroom remodel in Minneapolis with brown walls

The outdoor living area utilizes bold radial lines to offer a sense of unobstructed openness along the panoramic riverside views. Special consideration was given to the design and engineering of the outdoor space to allow a massive 60-foot span between columns, resulting in an unparalleled view. Playful geometric shapes speak to an easy livability that belie the bold and glamorous design. The second floor deck provides seamless access from the guest bedrooms, office and exercise rooms. The use of glass railing and zero-edge doors carefully preserve the view.
