Mark Hermogeno
architect or designer
location: San Francisco, California, United States
about me: Growing up in the middle of the California's Arts & Crafts capital of South Pasadena, Mark's interest in architectural design and furniture was influenced by Greene & Greene designs and the California bungalow that has been so popular since the early 20th century. His diverse background, which includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology in material cultures, attendance in the interior certification program at the University of California Berkeley Extension and his 10 plus years in retail visual merchandising with companies such as the GAP inc, the Disney Store inc, Restoration Hardware and Smith & Hawken, constantly raised his creativity and ability to visually present interiors as ideal places to work, shop and live. Award winning and published, Hermogeno Designs’ work emphasis is mid-range to high-end residential and commercial remodel/renovation, new construction and tenant improvement projects.

I have had tile on the brain so I decided to make this the first of a two part “tile series”. For instance, Victorian homes are known for their high ceilings but narrow room widths whereas Craftsman homes are known for their low ceilings and larger expanses of wall to wall stretches....
