abstract painting from an Otis art student in the 1960s graces the mantel. It’s abstract forms call to mind a deconstructed stained glass window design, and its fresh colors are echoed throughout the room. A built-in window seat on the left and bookcase to the right are typical of early Craftsman homes
Lack of symmetry idea for family room
cupboard next to the fireplace and the seat on the other side.
paint the fireplace white lots of pillows and bright white walls
another concept to ease off centered fireplace small (not tall) bookcase with bench seating
looking to do a unisex room for my children too. I love the yellow but I was also thinking of green or blue but I'm not sure. The yellow is lovely but far too much and I think I'd get sick of it too quickly. What other blues and greens are good hues? Could you give me some? Aren't stripes hard to paint
ceiling idea, use different colors, like fushia &purple

i like this color palette. i never think to paint doors.
decide to take down the huge mirror, put up two smaller beautiful mirrors, and have more color presence in the room. It would also make it easier to get lights near the sink/mirror, which I would want in a bathroom.
