Garden atrium courtyard idea with herbs etc
Perhaps this is not what we would normally think of as a hortus conclusus, but it's a beautiful example. Though not a garden for walking through, it does allow those in the otherwise sterile building to get closer to nature.

this idea would work - but you will still require reasonable light levels. Alternatively, instead of moss you could incorporate the Japanese sand garden style with rocks and water and a perhaps couple of plants
