like the idea of the plane picture - i.e. white surround with white frame on white wall - looks like plane is popping out of wall.

posts and even window frames are the lines rendered in primary colors against the planes.Note the way the planes in the foreground are white, getting progressively darker as they recede to the interior. A horizontal plane serves as a sunshade over the windows of the living-dining space, though it seems

Instead of the traditional brick walls with windows like its neighbors, the house is a layering of painted planes with

After the wood was reclaimed and planed what is the maintenance plan? Was a sealant put on the wood or is it left to weather again or...? Thx
It will just be left as is. To be clear the exposed face was NOT planed which is why it has it's 80 year old weathered patina. The planing on the back was simply to make it workable so it could be installed with some ease although admittedly it was a laborious process compared to standard lap siding
years old. It was re-claimed from a barn a Mennonite family was dismantling in Southern Ontario, Canada. We then re-planed the 3 unexposed sides for the horizontal siding and re-planed all of the sides for the vertical siding. The whole process was facilitated by The Wood Source here in Ottawa. http://www
