blocking coat should have been applied first. The tanning block was not applied -- and so the bleedout came through the finish coas. So -- that is how you can create this look -- the finish is a solid color stain by Olympic called "outside white. Apply this without using a tannin block and at first the wall
Hi-- Thanks for the compliment -- I am chuckling writing this because this was was actually not done per spec. The wood is resawn Douglas Fir and the finish is a solid color stain by Olympic called "outside white". A tannin stain blocking coat should have been applied first -- this would have prevented
I like the use of wood siding as a finish material. Better than Sheetrock, but not too "finished" for a garage.

Is it cedar? If so, how was it finished. We have raw cedar ceiling and would love them to look like these. Thanks.
It is cedar and it was just finished with a penofin cedar stain.
The tractor-seat bar stools throw the angular kitchen a few curves. The stools' walnut finish makes a great layering material to the cedar ceiling and wood cabinetry; the stools also give each member of the family a seat around the island table. Love this look. What kind of paint finish do you use? Satin?
work, but how to attach them? Maybe a circa 1970's wood paneling look, easy to install and probably much cheaper than these. Painted wood paneling finish is one of my personal favorites.

Blend your kitchen and living spaceNot keen on having your kitchen intrude into the living area? Arrange your units along one wall and choose a finish that ties in with the rest of the room – this distressed wood is repeated on the feature wall. Open shelving as opposed to wall units keeps the look light

I'd really like to know how this floor was finished!
This is exactly the finish I'm looking for! Was this done by an acid stain or a mechanical diamond grinder? I understand you're the photographer, so if you don't
just built a lake house on Smith Lake in Alabama and are trying to determine how to finish our basement concrete flooring. I like the finish look of this flooring and noticed your comment of doing the same type finish yourself. We are planning on doing the work ourself. Could you give more detail as
like the color - is this finish slippery
imagine what a dirty mop would leave behind in the crevice where the floor meets the wall if there were no baseboard. And it will make your choice look finished and intentional.

I absolutely love the wood! Does the tincture add color like a stain and if so what color is it? Does the tincture add a protective finish like a poly? Thanks!
Yes, this is actually one of our showroom displays! The finish on the wall is Ben Moore's "Coastal Fog" AC-1. Good luck with your project!
All of our finishes are formulated in the factory and have a multi-step process. Unfortunately I cannot equate this to a store bought stain. Maybe you can show this
