$500-$1,000. Any ideas would be appreciated. I would like to place down real tile but I am not sure I can do this with deck flooring. If I pull up the carpet, how can I keep bugs from coming up through the seams in the decking?
I agree - bigger posts further apart will definitely improve the looks of my porch. I also like the idea of putting down plywood if I go with carpet again. I want my porch to reflect a dressed up yet relaxed nature - I am tired of the cabin-at-the-lake look (rough). I love my porch too - as do my
need bigger posts further apart. As for the flooring , you will need to put down some plywood to keep the bugs out and I think a good quality out door carpet would be better than tiles. That's what we did over twenty years ago and it still looks great with no problems.We are working at screening it in soon

Hi....My house is 20 yrs. old and the style is a Traditional/Colonial two story. I'm replacing the carpet in the formal living/dining room and stairs. I'm having a hard time deciding on the type of hardwood I want. The 5" handscraped plank (hickory) or
then living room on right and dining room on left, with stairs off centered from front door. I have ceramic tile in the foyer all the way into the kitchen and eating area. It is 8" tile so considering 18x18 (less grout). Your professional opinion is sincerely appreciated.
