We also live on Brooklyn and are looking for a hood just like this...
love this space-love the concrete floors, open concept, tall ceilings, windows and beautiful kitchen. What is the dimension of the kitchen please? I'm wondering how long the back wall is where the kitchen cabinets are?
could we do a similar staircase along the back wall taking up a portion of the dining room and start the kitchen under the landing?
I like the combo of wood and white. The natural colors of the wood and feeling of
rolling ladder to access upper kitchen cabinets
Rug! Also cherry wood color with the rugs (similar to our apt)
The kitchen is at the opposite end of the living room and library space. The simple, modern character of the house comes through in the glass stair; high, flat ceiling; wood cabinets; and open plan.Astute Houzzers may have noticed the children’s furniture in the second photo echoed here. Traditional Kitchen & Bathroom - Kitchen
TreHus recaptured the historical character of this kitchen with beautiful, traditional materials like custom oak and dark-stained cherry cabinetry, granite countertops, white subway tile, and a farmhouse sink. Photo by John Reed Foresman.
what is the dark cabinet color? What kind of wood are they?
what type of wood are the cabinets and what color is it?
If you want to make sure you get one exactly the way you want it, I would recommend getting a piece of the kind of wood you plan on using and trying some sample stains on it. Each kitchen is a little different and sometimes it can make all the difference to be a shade or two lighter or darker. The cabinets

Blur the lines between kitchen and living area. This French country kitchen has a warm, library-like atmosphere that disguises its utilitarian purpose. The designer seamlessly carried over the kitchen's dark green details and elegant lighting fixtures to the hearth's

This kitchen is full of good ideas. Like how sleek these cabinets are, with pull-holes instead of hardware. wood might get overbearing after while.

My kitchen is remodeled but I'd start over to put this tile in. Wow.
Winner! Love everything about this kitchen
steel can be balanced by warmer tones, such as the wood floor in this kitchen. Tonally, the two materials complement each other here — one anchors the floor; the other, the wall. Note the tonal variety in each of the surfaces as well. The graining of the wood and the varied finishes on the tile complement

I like how open this looks without a hood. It would be vented differently I suppose.
Arch might be good way to hide hood.
