5. A concealed knife blockAs a foodie, you appreciate a clear bench space. Magnetic strips attached to the wall for your knives does work, however there’s something a little macabre about having such sharp tools on show to the world. Enter the slide-away concealed knife block

Cottage Kitchen - Personal Touches
Personal Touches - A partition divides a wide drawer to accommodate the carved knife block ( for the Henckels knives) and a slotted knife holder for a set of steak knifes (CCDI & DKH). Reminisce about your favorite beachfront destination and your mind’s eye evokes a serene, comfortable cottage with

Please give me the dimensions of this cabinet drawer in the picture and the cost... Do the knives protection block come with the drawer or is it sold seperately. The capacity of knives on this block

want the interruption of opening and closing a drawer for those particular items. The magnet on the wall works great for knives, and it was an idea I got from houzz.

How was this created? Is the dishwasher pulled away from the wall, or is there space behind for the knives? One long slit?
There was enough space to accommodate knives with dishwasher flush to wall. The carpenter cut a slit in the boards for knives.

Another option for keeping knives close at hand

slots for knives, while vintage flower frogs sit on the windowsill — everything falls into Farley's method of practical and pretty displays. Old-fashioned materials — subway tile, marble, butcher block and zinc — honor the cottages' original kitchens.

I prefer keeping my knives up on the wall, but our new kitchen has a backsplash I'm affraid of drilling into! Any particular method?
way to keep knives in a handy, easy-access location, and it frees up a drawer or counter space.
Back splash behind knives. Do not want magnetic bars for knives.
A wall-mounted magnetic knife bar is a great way to keep knives in a handy, easy-access location, and it frees up a drawer or counter space.
3. A magnetic knife strip. A wall-mounted knife rack can do so much more than keep your knives neat and out of the way (though it's great for that, too). Use

More safety tips:• When you're finished with knives, leave them adjacent to the sink (not inside) until they are ready to be washed.• Never put knives in a bowl or sink full of soapy water. A knife lurking under suds is as dangerous as a hiding rattlesnake

drawer need to be to allow for this amount of storage for cutlery and knives? I would rather have the cutlery at the bottom as it always opens doesn't it? Then you'd have the option of pulling out the upper level to get to the sharp knives.. Thank you.

the perimeter. You will see i even made the sink doors "look" like 2 drawers. There is a designated cooking area which my client loves with all his knives/spices/utensils etc all around him. I reduced the depth of the cabinets on one side to still allow for my magic number pass through space, this area
I like this for my knife drawer (except I will keep the knives with the blades down)
safe place to store knives and gets
get knives off the counter. great idea.
We need to have something for all of the knives we have...but it would need to be ultra child proofed?
great idea - no dull knives
