What are the shades and where did you get them?
The shades are perfect in this room.
They are mounted on the doors because when the doors are opened the shades go with them. A professional installer should advise you before ordering.

there a standard guideline for where to hang window treatments for a window with deep sills? I have romans for a window in a guest bedroom with a sill approximately 10-12" deep. I'll place the romans inside the frame, but not sure if they should be flush with the wall or closer to the window. Thanks

I like the clean look of the countertops, the huge window and shade. I also liked the facet (restaurant style)
