What is better for a vegetable garden, full sun or partial?
particular garden would be too low for wheelchair access, but it would be very easy to make adjustments to accommodate.
It really depends on what you are growing. This is a zone 5b garden. The front half of the garden gets about 8 hours of full sun. The back half gets about 5 hours of full sun.

forgive a small, uninvited tip: native soil is great IF its great. Horse manure can be full of weed seeds and very "hot" (look it up). Some places don't freeze hard enough to heave the ground (obviously not an issue in Chi-town). Homemade compost is often full of seeds, too. I wouldn't be afraid to bring

10. Add edibles. Even a small yard can handle a few pots of peppers and herbs, and you may be surprised at how easy it is to fit in one or two small raised beds. If you’ve been considering adding an edible garden, why not make this the year to try it? Start with a small, manageable
Keep it in bounds. If you’re a beginning gardener, start small with your favorites. You won’t be overwhelmed by either the care or the harvest.
