with a dash of asian, a retired couple's home in Idaho overlooks Lake Pend d'Oreille. The shallow plan is all about the views, including a tight entry hall with a large sliding glass door opposite the front door for a "pow" moment when guests enter.
simply a hip roof? How would you describe the pitch? I would really like to have this

you , A good alternative to boxwood hedge, especially if blight is evident. I wish it was grown much more in the Uk or for the Uk landscape industry as an alternative.

DOING A SMALL GARDEN SHACK IN THE WALL OF DIRT IN ONE OR MORE OF THE TIERS. FRAMED INSIDE AND EVERYTHING, BUT IS BUILT INTO THE DIRT WITH A GRASS OR FLOWER ROOF.

walls add a great sense of permanence
isn't a true ha-ha; most would consider it a retaining wall. But it does give us a good idea how the true ha-ha works; from the lower side, the wall ceates a secure barrier unseen from the open garden above.

Eventually build some kind of wall to level out the front yard and break up the hill. Keep whatever done so that a driveway down the south side of house would still be possible.
