How long do you think the tree trunk will last before it succumbs to rot? I have a huge tree tree that is coming down this coming summer (too close to house) and thought about doing something similar to this.
Great idea for a dead tree
"feels"... a tree house should feel closer to nature, not a miniture version of a real house
Giant tree stump used as floor for tree house, wisteria planted beside it

Old tree stump becomes showcase for
With beautiful purple wisteria blooms dripping down around the structure of this nest built onto an old stump, the views from all sides are framed perfectly. The plantings give the tree house a veil of protection, while the open windows offer vistas. How will you create a nest

Sequoia tree that needs to come down. Now I know what I will do with the wood.
cut them around 7 in. thick. The problem I would see about being in grass is that they would deteriorate because of being up against wet damp grass all the time.
Re purposed tree stumps as accents and steps.

Gnome tree. An enchanting addition to a children’s garden, a gnome tree like this one sparks imagination in kids of all ages. Have yours customized with swings — or, with a hollow interior, it could be a playhouse.

cover the stump with and how did you turn it into a fountain? Have client with a stump.
rock & landscape suppliers that have retail sales environments. Many suppliers also carry pre-cast concrete bubbler "rocks" that look like real stone, but are much lighter and can be easier to work with. Once you find the fountain kit you like, you can install yourself, or hire a local landscape company
used a stump. Drilled a 1/2 hole down the middle, inserted tubing and placed a small pump underneath. Works great.
The fountain shown can be a natural stone or a pre-cast concrete fountain. If you look closely, you'll see it's not a stump.

Gingko trees and have used several in the landscaping of our store in Mountain View. Summerwinds Nursery carries Gingko's but they are relatively small and it takes some time for the tree to get established and start gaining significant height. We have also used Capitol Wholesale Nursery in San Jose

regular tree stump would be incredibly heavy , especially without any castors to help move it. Where can this be purchased?
A wood stump stool is an easy way to add warmth and organic texture to a bathroom. Use one beside the tub to keep your teacup and book within reach during long soaks.
