How long do you think the tree trunk will last before it succumbs to rot? I have a huge tree tree that is coming down this coming summer (too close to house) and thought about doing something similar to this.

Sequoia tree that needs to come down. Now I know what I will do with the wood.
cut them around 7 in. thick. The problem I would see about being in grass is that they would deteriorate because of being up against wet damp grass all the time.

Many suppliers also carry pre-cast concrete bubbler "rocks" that look like real stone, but are much lighter and can be easier to work with. Once you find the fountain kit you like, you can install yourself, or hire a local landscape company
used a stump. Drilled a 1/2 hole down the middle, inserted tubing and placed a small pump underneath. Works great.
The fountain shown can be a natural stone or a pre-cast concrete fountain. If you look closely, you'll see it's not a stump.

How did this 80' tall tree get into a slide show on
Gingko trees and have used several in the landscaping of our store in Mountain View. Summerwinds Nursery carries Gingko's but they are relatively small and it takes some time for the tree to get established and start gaining significant height. We have also used Capitol Wholesale Nursery in San Jose
