Lighting on the side of stairs
Love the "stairway to heaven" staircase...awesome lighting!
Get the light rightGood illumination can be all you need to completely transform a space. Here, lighting at the sides makes this wooden staircase glow. It’s more like an art installation than a run of steps.

A good interior designer will have the experience to know what will work in each space. If you’re looking for something really special, you might also want to consider

honed black granite, cabinet style with dark hardware & lights
Almost everything. More natural light. White fridge and microwave. Chairs at island. Love the sitting area for two.
Like the use of glass in these cabinets - not in every single one but enough to make overall look interesting. Also like light fixtures.
