Both islands are about 48 x 96, with the work island (on the left) set up as a true rectangle with full cabinets throughout. The serving island (on the right) is also a baking island (where the homeowner can make cookies with her grandchildren), and it has a wedge-shaped counter pulled out over the
photo). With all these openings, we had limited wall room, and we decided to bring the main activity of the kitchen out in the center of the room and onto the 2 islands.
