Mother in Law's Tongue plant in a large planter
home's large urn could certainly hold a tree, though I like the modest choice of mother-in-law's tongue. It delineates the indoor space without detracting from the seamless transition of indoor to outdoor. With these massive proportions, the large urn is a necessity because a small pot would look downright

gardener. We are making it 16x20. Downsizing from what it was, and removed two giant red cedar stumps. We have the massive rock, lol I've found the urns and I'm hoping we can just transplant our PNW ferns into the center garden. I hope they are not some special kind of fern as they do resemble what

This beautiful island is a focal point, with large-scale urns integrated with a specimen tree, various shrubs and ground covers. Urns. Generally made of glazed ceramic, large urns are an excellent way to add color and sheen to your landscape. Although they don't typically offer much in the terms of functionality, they do a nice job of adding a punch of color to an otherwise dull corner.
ochre of this urn ties together the colors of the dry grasses, the sand and weathered portions of the wooden fence.
Ocher OutsideA large ocher vase adds color but looks earthy and ancient in a garden setting.

I love the look of the long lush grass divided by a stone path shaded with mature trees and the giant urn element to create the interest. makes me want to go for a walk.
Unusual placement of urn. Great, unexpected.
love the quirkeness of the 'fallen' urn
The creeping red fescue grass and the urn.
Make a bold statement. This gigantic urn sculpture is an apt choice for an olive grove, as large urns were traditionally used to store olive oil in places like Italy and Turkey. However, I think of this as an urn-inspired sculpture because I doubt even a large number of gladiators led by Russell Crowe
distract from the harmony of the space. This design is bold but simple, and easy for your 16-year-old neighbor to weed on a Saturday afternoon. The urn isn't terrible to look at either!

Go big with your centerpiece. Look to planters you might usually keep outside, a large urn, a giant shell or an oversize hurricane. These are the kinds of vessels that work well with branches you find in the yard or a grouping of citrus fruit.Get more inspiration for working with branches

designed to take advantage of the beautiful shape and texture of natural wood. To bring this look to your own home, set up a collection of branches in a large urn or another container (Lucite might be nice), and search for a live-edge wood headboard, side table or bench.

identical pots brings the look and feel of a formal garden to a patio. Choose tall, sleek planters like those shown here for a modern look, or try large urns if traditional style is what you love.
