Engineered flooring has many layers of plywood that is built up with a 2-8mm wear layer.
The bigger the real wood layer is the more pricey, but also the more you can refinish it. Engineered wood is a great choice over concrete as it resists movement. Parquet is usually solid hardwood or engineered hardwood

hard, light-colored floor, consider maple. It's a close-grain hardwood, meaning that its grain pattern is more subtle than a lot of other woods can be.

The flooring we used in this kitchen is a maple "floating floor" in 5" planks...hope this helps!
looks like Natural Maple with a water-based finish (e.g. bona traffic). we sanded down our maple floors (they had a horrible orangy brown finish) and applied
interesting red countertops... but notice how the dark cabinets look with the light flooring
