the sofa is away from the fireplace. This is a great idea I fear to use. The fireplace in all homes takes away a wall, uses too much space. This a low sofa and fireplace shows. My own would hide fireplace. Love this for space saving and looks.
I love it. Makes the fireplace a quiet, but distinguished guest in the room instead of always being the "host" and focal point. Warmth and visual character without forcing you to place everything in a circle around it. Nice

Are the windows in this room original to the house? Who makes them?
Good luck.I am trying to decide between the Reese and the Wells at Room and Board.
I'm pretty certain the sectional is from Room & Board

many of the ranches that followed have lower ones. Talk with an architect about busting through the ceiling to the roofline — a higher ceiling makes rooms feel a lot larger. See how that worksPhotos: See the rest of this ranch renovation

Looks like Sherwin Williams Anjou Pear. Looks awesome in my dining room with white trim and hardwood brazilian cherry floors.

Don't paint the beams in the living room
Narofsky kept the living room ceilings open to give the impression of greater height. Steel beams are capped with reclaimed wood from New York City brownstones. "The rich quality of the wood adds a lot to the space and refers back to the Pacific Northwest look," Narofsky says. The fireplace wall has

saw them at west elm. I was excited to see a picture with the stands being used the way I pictured them. The room looks GREAT! My problem is that the ones at west elm are either too high or too low.
