What did you use to hang the plates?
I always feel like my traditional hangers scratch the rims of the plate and they never hang as flat as yours do in the pic. Any suggestions on how to hand them? Love your mix of plates.
Thanks TriciaJo, I used just standard plate hangers in various sizes that I purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond and used OOK picture hooks to hang. I've never had a problem with scratching the rims. Perhaps you could put a dab of clear nail polish on the ends of the plate hangers so the metal doesn't come in
in direct contact with your plates? Not sure if it would work but it might be your solution. Good luck! Regards, Patty

A gallery wall of plates is a great way to fill the space and add color. See how to hang a plate collection
Joi collected the plates over time from high street stores, antique shops and charity shops. When it came time to hang them, she took a picture on the floor of the plates in a rough layout
Joi collected the plates over time from big box stores, antique shops and thrift stores. When it came time to hang them, she took a picture on the floor of the plates in a rough layout, used "invisible" hangers that adhere to the back of the plates and referred back to the photo as she hung them up.

I have a lot of plates and platters that were my mom's and grandmother's. I've often thought about displaying them on my wall so that they can be decorative and accessible as serving pieces. How did you hang these plates? Just regular plate holders? Glue? Thanks!
Could someone please share the information about how the plates were attached to the wall. I have a large majolica collection I would like to hang and do not want to use the spring type hangers. Thanks!
Love that the plates have been cut to make a rectangular installation. Fun twist!

from my grandfather' sold apartment. Now I must paint it white! I am looking for a good paint color (other than white) for the background of beautiful plates in my kitchen eating area. Many of them are majolica. Lots of color but some are only blue & white. Suggestions anyone?

The plates (tiles) are John Darian. http://www
Here's two more ideas if the plates are bigger. I've used the invisible version. Works really well. http://www.amazon.com/Invisible-English-Hanger-Disc-3-Diameter/dp/B000TAQKEG/ref=sr_1_11
These are decoupage plates by john derian. You can find them at johnderian.com. He also has stores in NYC and Provincetown (that one might be seasonal, I'm not sure. It's a cool

This type of plate rack is hard to find in the US. Do you know of a source? Thanks so much
These are vintage, but this company makes new ones: http://oliverfurniture.dk/weben/
I like this for storing the plates so I can see them and use them, maybe taller so the decorative plates can be seen too,
to store and show pretty plates and platters
The big yellow plate just makes this whole set up feel sunny
o properly show off a collection, let it stand alone. This white-on-white setup (with two spots of yellow) highlights the plates and makes everything look intentional and clean.
Handy idea for storing platters and plates, but has little shelves to display things too.

Hi Could you tell me what do you use to make the license plate onto the wall? Thank you!
like the license plate wall art
dad's old plates combined with my first Curlz plate might make for a funky wall. Of course I might need it framed out for a little more structure.
Cool idea w/ the license plates

Speaking of favorite collections … to regular Houzz Envy readers: I’ve finally found a way to put a twist on the “hang plates on the wall” idea. License plates!
