The bedroom is the least public room and should be the most tranquil. All you really need: bedding, lighting, alarm clock, hamper, maybe a scented candle or a vase with a few flowers.

Masculine doesn't have to mean dark. A combination of whites and tans keeps it bright but without any unnecessary frills.
Make your bedroom a sanctuary. As the least public room in the house, it is all too easy to let the bedroom become neglected. Piles of dirty laundry on the floor, unread magazines spilling out of the bedside tables, dust bunnies, shopping bags, children's toys, you name it, it ends up here. Which is a shame
