always buy and test large samples of any paint color in the room where you intend to use it. Colors can look dramatically different depending on other finishes and lighting conditions.
Mix your metals! This room, although done in a neutral palette, has great interest because of its mixed metals. The opulent gilded mirror over the mantel has a different finish than the equally ornate console, and the chandelier boasts yet

am saying that mixing is a good thing, right? Absolutely — and not just in style. Consider mixing your metal finishes, too. Who makes the pendant and does it come in an oil rubbed bronze finish?
While every cabinet company has different names for their finishes, my guess is that this is Antique White. There's a touch of gold in the mix to soften it up.
The cabinet paint color was custom mixed, and the other room was existing, no idea on the color.
interesting - two finishes on cabinets
Only things I don't like about this are the color of the cabinets & the mixed media countertop

more cabinet finishes, as with the stained island and white perimeter cabinets shown in this kitchen, it's perfectly fine to mix up the finishes of the hardware as well! Not everything has to match — the nickel finish wouldn't look as good on the stained island as the antique bronze finish does, for example

Rebekah. So inspiring! What is the finish of the cabinet pulls, both on the perimeter and on the island? Are the perimeter pulls oil-rubbed bronze or black? If oil-rubbed bronze, is black too harsh a finish? Are the island pulls polished chrome or another finish? Finally, what are the sizes of the
hardware. I want three of the large yoke but it's very hard to tell finishes online. Not sure if the polished Nickel is too shiny and would be better with softer Antique Nickel but can't find a good picture of the antique nickel finish. Does it just look soft or does it look splotchy. Would love your

Yes, this is one of our showroom displays. The ceiling height is 13' and we finished our cabinets at 12'. The upper section on the wall cabinet is 18" high. Good luck with your project!
This flooring is pre finished Italian Alder. It is hand planed and really lovely! We sourced it from Paris Ceramics at the Boston Design Center.
This is proprietary to one of our cabinet makers, Premier Custom Built. It is a traditional milk paint, in a pewter finish.

I like the mix of furniture and built ins and a different looking island
and the fact that it doesn't match the wood finish of the oak armoire-cabinet, along with the woven stools and globe light fixtures makes it look all the more collected and less kitchen-y.

mixed wood finishes, clean lines unite
Mixing the styles of furniture. I can never
never decide what I like so I end up with all expresso finish furniture.
Change the style of a room by adding mixed wood finishes. If your style has changed from strictly contemporary to a more rustic look, you do not have to give up your bed frame! Soften a modern bed frame by adding light distressed wood side tables. The linen hemp pillows on the bed tie the look together

Can I mix the stainless steel sink with a oil-rubbed bronze faucet?
We are remodeling our kithcen on the farm and it will have natural birch cabinets. We hope to reuse the satin finish stainless steel sink and I was hoping to use an oil-rubbed

Go Ahead: Mix Your FinishesWhen people say all white kitchens look alike, I can't disagree more. Just changing the finish of the hardware completely changes the look of a kitchen, even when the hardware is exactly the same style.Depending on the other finishes in your kitchen, you may consider satin
polished chrome or nickel, or oil-rubbed bronze. Don't feel like you have to match the cabinet hardware to the lighting or plumbing fixture finishes. I like to mix finishes by using antique brass light fixtures and polished nickel pulls to give a kitchen a more collected-over-time feel.

They will break up the space and create a beautiful mix of finishes. If you are looking to display plates, find a shelf with a ledge or lip so the plates do not slide

What type of wood (species and is it solid or engineered wood) was chosen and what color is the finish?
to commit to doing the whole kitchen this color, apply it just to the island and keep the other cabinets white. Many new kitchens are showing a mix of finishes, and an island is a good place to play with color.
