The design of the house, especially the roof to protect against precipitation.
The house is anything but conventional. Its exterior walls and roof are biodegradable but designed to withstand Scandinavian winters. Its shape doesn't allow for snow to stay on the roof for long. Wooden shingles mimic tree bark in their slight expansion upon contact with moisture, creating a tighter

Minnetonka Shingle-Style
The style of this house is unique and beautiful! Could you provide the manufacturer of the finial on the gable? I would love to do something similar on my beach house. Any guidance would be much appreciated!

can you tell me the measurement between the colums, great house!
How do I get my hands on this house plan? I love it!
You are better off contacting a local architect, explaining to them what about this house you like and what else you want in your new home, and let them design something specifically for you.
Long balcony on one side of house upstairs Another long balcony in bottom
Fav! Nice idea with the balcony on the 2nd floor of the back of the house. The front of the house with a flat look (no porch)
porches dominate the area. If you've ever visited Charleston, South Carolina, you've seen that many of these go down the side of the house, while the narrowest part of the house faces the street. This is because of an old tax code that had a formula based on a home's streetfront area.

Any idea what the color of house and trim would be? I love the combo!
Thank you for your inquiry. This house was completed nearly 15 years ago and the files have been archived, but my best guess is that they are 15-16' square.
Thanks. I understand. Any suggestions on house and trim colors that would give a similiar
similiar look? We are building an "old" new house, and love the look.

Dream home. The porch. The roof.
Love the house, porch and dormers
Look closely at the details on this South Carolina house. It has the same type of full-width porch. Though the columns are square, they still have an impression of a base and a capital. A minimally detailed entablature defines the eave and fascia. And especially delightful are the pediment-adorned dormers

Wisteria on Atherton fort
long do you think the tree trunk will last before it succumbs to rot? I have a huge tree tree that is coming down this coming summer (too close to house) and thought about doing something similar to this.

you will be inspired to break out the hammer and nails and build yourself your very own tree house complete with wisteria vines, a tiny door and a zip line — or maybe you will just close your eyes and dream of pirates and a family named Robinson.More: How to Create a Nest at HomeCreating Nests in Unexpected
dripping down around the structure of this nest built onto an old stump, the views from all sides are framed perfectly. The plantings give the tree house a veil of protection, while the open windows offer vistas. How will you create a nest today? Will you trim a few branches in spring to create a frame
