you should consider that a black countertop will pretty much dictate the feel of the room. The kitchen in this picture would look and feel totally different with dark counters. I would suggest looking for inspiration in pictures with black countertops to get a better idea of what your finished kitchen
from other photo in this album: You'd need a minimum of 14' of width in the room to do this particular layout properly. It's hard to tell from this photo how long this room is, but looks to be longer than 15'... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

white/grey tones in the granite. I love what I think is called cottage or french country looking designs but I have a spanish ranch home. My dining room has terra cotta tiles in an arabesque shape and I thought it might be good to continue the floor into the kitchen. How can I tie these two looks together
