I love the view onto the mountains through the car port.
Light, thin roof and walls. Leaves street view through.
Perfectly framed eye level view preserved with cutout. Could even enclose it complete with windows.
Partial back wall. Not blocking view even from there.
Similarly, the architects didn't plan the carport to be merely a shelter for cars; they left a gap between the roof and walls to highlight the distant mountain views, a vista that's even more dramatic when seen through the windshield.

We began with a structurally sound 1950’s home. The owners sought to capture views of mountains and lake with a new second story, along with a complete rethinking of the plan. Basement walls and three fireplaces were saved, along with the main floor deck. The new second story provides a master suite
bedroom sits above the dining and living area, but it is set back on two sides, creating a wraparound roof deck that is ideal for gazing at the mountain views. The wood walls, floors, ceiling and closets make for an warm and inviting sanctuary.
