Who makes the fireplace and where did you get the stone?
I assume the fireplace is one of those electric fireplaces as there appears to be no vent above. I also like the stone - and would love to recreate this set up in a nook in my basement!
I like the idea of the stone around the fire, wood mantle and built-ins on either side.
like the stone look of the fireplace and you could build up above it the same as in the other

How was the stepping stone installed to stay in place?
The tumbled bluestone is about 2" thick. The stones are held in place by their weight, the sturdy base of 3/4 minus gravel and the 3/8" crushed gravel between.
I like this walk way - stones with large pavers.
larger stones inside of gravel path

The wires are hidden in the wall before the stone is installed. The cable box is elsewhere - the house has wireless internet connection, so all is wifi.
Manland - Stone/concrete hearth, fire surround & stone to the ceiling behind the tv.
dark wood helps warm up and shrink the high ceilings - nicely balanced by the stone, too.
the ceiling, as in the room here, it reduces the perceived distance. Gravity is at play here, too. The dark color works well because the substantial stone fireplace appears as though it could bear the weight.
