What is the best filler for a plywood floor that is "chipping"?
floors over concrete in a small lake cottage in the Midwest. We then painted them for a cottage look. We did not add polyurethane as a finish as it was not recommended in the lake environment. Now they are chipping. What is the best filler to use for the chips? Also the best floor paint as they need
good for floors for long term durability, but a water based enamel or another specialty floor paint that your local hardware store could recommend will work also. Good luck with your project!
to the floor using 2-1/2" countersunk gold screws. We covered the screw holes with wood putty and then sanded so they appeared flush with the finish surface. Our final step was to add a few thin coats of Polyurethane to give it the shine.
This whole room is in shadow, so we're not seeing the true paint color. But for this look, I'm going with Sherwin's Natural Choice again (I just recommended it to someone else). It's a white with lots of depth. Oh, look at those floors!

this floor have a grey tone? It's beautiful! What type of wood did you start with and how did you achieve that tone?
The flooring looks like pine, and a similar stain to try is Winter White 3131 by Sherwin Williams.
White Ash and am using a 4 part pickling oak stain (Minwax) with 1 part light gray (Varathane). I have done it on a few samples and this is what it turns out like. Next is the poly, but oil based poly yellows, water based poly won't hold up to the elements and I have discovered Swedish acid cures which

The floors are natural ash - which I have heard is difficult to come by these days. Natural Maple is a nice substitution if you can't find the ash. The planks are about 3 and 1/4 inches. Hope that helps. Thanks, Kimberly
