Sanding : It depends on how rough the wood was originally cut. As far as sealer goes, that is a personal option whether you'd like the wood to grey out naturally or retain its fresh cut color.

White River Jct. VT. Colors that work at one locale may not look the same elsewhere, as natural light, vegetation, and materials vary, and adjacent colors affect how it all works. They pick up the colors of the natural slate roof and the stone walls. And of course what looks one way on the computer screen
