How does one find a venetian plaster installer?
What brand of Venetian plaster was used on this finish? It's gorgeous. Also, what color was used?
know where I could find a similar fireplace, but only one sided. I am also interested to know what the dark grey material is surrounding it (not the plaster) is it part of the fireplace insert? Very lovely.
Does anyone know if you can achieve a similar effect by liming cherry floors? Ours our natural cherry and too orange for my liking. I'd like to try liming them in the hopes of getting a look like in this pic.
Charlie, thanks for the reply but can you tell me if the oil was natural or white oil like Woca?

This Venetian Plaster looks very similiar to the "cretestone" plaster we do in South-Africa. Beautiful, but porous in showers. It's basically cement mixed with either yellow or green type of acid
Plaster makes for a great ecofriendly shower or bath surround, as it's comprised of plentiful natural materials — lime, gypsum or cement — mixed with water. Unlike some plastic shower surrounds, the natural plaster matrix emits no VOCs (volatile organic compounds)

Do I sand to the bare drywall and paint or (which I am fine with), sand it most of the way and then apply a coat of joint compound like a smooth plaster completely over the walls and paint? I feel the latter would have a higher quality appearance. Also, is it difficult to replace the sharp corner beads
laths, then put on several different layers of plaster. The work was time consuming and difficult to master. Today you'll be hard pressed to find anyone installing a traditional plaster finish from scratch. It's much easier to put up sheet of gypsum plaster sandwiched between paper, called drywall, gypsum
bullnose corner bead to mimic plaster. softens everything.
Drywall vs. PlasterDrywall is a master of disguise. The walls in this picture look like they could be plaster. One of the visual giveaways that you're actually looking at drywall is when you see the sharp corners created by standard corner bead.Corner bead is a metal or plastic piece that covers the

Designer Raji Radhakrishnan imagined that this home office belonged to the head curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Venetian-plaster walls provide "richness and finesse," says Radhakrishnan."And I wanted to have something visual in every corner, each a little vignette of its own, but they
permanent fixture. It can change with your whim or with the season. Imagine this office without that green foliage on the desk. The combination of the lime-green color and the feathery texture adds an element that would be sorely missed.
