think the mix is probably more about what is available to get the color mix. The floors have a natural finish and are the standard 3/4" solid plank. In case anyone else is wondering, the cabinets are a natural finish cherry. The beams (and all of the other beams in the house) are douglas fir.

cabinets are semi-custom. They are natural cherry in a Shaker style. They're the Showhouse line made by Metropolitan Cabinets in Norwood, MA (...). They have Massachusetts showrooms in Norwood, Watertown, and Natick. They are sold only through the trade. So you'll need a designer or contractor to assist with
Mine are a natural cherry with just a clear finish (though I added a brown glaze)...the brown glaze makes them appear a bit deeper and richer than the picture above...but still fairly light and not at all orange or red.
