I still love the Old New Orleans houses.

house in New Orleans can trace its roots directly to tax policy. First, taxes were levied on street frontage, so the houses were kept narrow and deep. As tax revenues fell because of all of these narrow houses, the tax man started to levy taxes on the number of rooms, with hallways and closets counting

Sookie's new house needs a sturdy fence and gate to help keep out the undesirables. Perhaps if she moves on to the closest big city, New Orleans, she'll choose a home like this. I mean, there must be a lot of ways for a mind reader to make lots of money, right?
These homes were built in rectangular sections to imitate the look of Italian-style villas. The arches of traditional Roman architecture were often combined with the detail that became possible with new construction technology of the time. Other common features include large porches with decorative eaves

of our homes be good neighbors. While a complete break with the past and history may be cathartic, there’s been too much of it in the past century. Let’s find what makes a place special and celebrate that by respecting it. This isn’t to say that we should be trapped in some century of yore, only that

house in New Orleans. Can you tell what the roof color is and also if the siding is white? In my neighborhood most white homes have a grey roof, I was thinking about venturing to a wedge-wood color. Thought?
ic of New Orleans and this style home.
On this particular design, the color of the shutters was an Olive green and the front door was chocolate stained antique cypress. In the region this house is located (60 miles east of New Orleans), this color combonation is quite common.
Could this home be adjusted for a one story home? I love this design?
Pretty home and I like the pieces above the main floor windows.
