how were these floors finished? Will this pine wear out quickly because pine is such a soft wood? People have tried to steer me away from using it.
What are the floors made from or bought from
with an old carriage house. The carriage house is paneled inside with 7" barn siding. Want to use the barn wood as flooring in the actual house. Should it be milled for tongue and groove, or left solid? any other suggestions. thx
What company were the floors purchased from?
or just pine board nailed to the walls?
Thanks for the kudos!!!! The painter and floor finisher were two different people. The common element is that the walls and floors are both reclaimed wood.
True heart pine is 1220 on the Janka hardness scale, equivalent to Red Oak.
kind of floors are these? Is there a twin? Beautiful!
What kind of wood was used on the floors? Is it a character or rustic grade or reclaimed? Thanks!
heart pine floors, would you mind sharing the brand of urethane that you used? Have installed antique heart pine, and now ready to finish.
Thanks!
What finish did you select for the flooring? I recently did a full home renovation with reclaimed heart pine flooring from a whiskey distillery in Kentucky
The floors are Loblolly Pine from salvaged beams that came out of a 100 year old warehouse roof. We had them milled into the tongue and groove flooring as well as the stair treads and handrail and the ceiling material in the bedrooms.
The beams were 14" by 18", and there was still sap at the center
love these pine floors- are they stained or natural? love how they are not yellow-ish but don't know how to get this color
thanks- maybe i can get a similar look with new floors, but it is hard to beat those old ones!
The floorboards are quite old and they have been untreated for decades hidden under a carpet. So they were quite dark already when I started renovating the floor. I darkened the color
it is a pine floor.

these floors? Are they antique heart pine? What grade?
I believe it's white pine painted white. I love this picture..beautiful home...and it makes me so excited to paint our pine ceilings
cracks in floor before and it generally doesn't last. It will last a while if you keep your house at a constant level of humidity and the floor doesn't move, but in the end, you'll have to remove/replace it. Heart pine is very soft and dogs will scratch it. I wouldn't trade my scratches, they're like wrinkles-
heart pine reclaimed from an old cotton mill in South Carolina
