“The floors are Loblolly Pine from salvaged beams that came out of a 100 year old warehouse roof. We had them milled into the tongue and groove flooring as well as the stair treads and handrail and the ceiling material in the bedrooms.
The beams were 14" by 18", and there was still sap at the center”

“cracks in floor before and it generally doesn't last. It will last a while if you keep your house at a constant level of humidity and the floor doesn't move, but in the end, you'll have to remove/replace it. Heart pine is very soft and dogs will scratch it. I wouldn't trade my scratches, they're like wrinkles-”
