Carmel Mid-Century LEED
tomlj, The siding is Nichiha Architectural Block siding. I would confirm with your local rep whether there are any draw backs to the product for the bitter Chicago winters. Thank you, Caitlin Carr Studio Schicketanz ccarr@studioschicketanz.com

Are the columns wood or a manmade maintenance-free product? I'd love to know what was used.
Could somebody tell me the product used for the stone porch and the stone walkway? Thank you, Jamie Stowe, Traverse City, Michigan

Old with new, didn't care for the dark, juxtaposition of modern and antique architecture is nice
the primary goal of this type of addition. It’s important to also consider the exterior spaces this type of addition creates. Consider using the architecture to shield winds, gather sunlight and reinforce interior-exterior connections. Barns have always been positioned to do this on farmsteads.
