It's a wood and steel framed roll-up door that separates the space... it is open in the picture.
This could be a roll-up garage door, in the "up" position, meaning the room is open to the outside in the photo. They have these at Stone Brewery and Gardens in San Marcos, California-- beautiful!

are plenty of seating options in this room, but I bet that pouf still sees its fair share of action. It breaks up the pattern of paired chairs and opens up the seating area by not completely filling in the "square" of this arrangement.
