I'm remodeling a small kitchen with an 8 foot ceiling which currently has a flat flourescent fixture. I need something that's reasonably flat and has more style than what I currently have. Thank you!

photo it looks like the microwave is built right into the wall? We are looking for a creative way to deal with our microwave as we have a very small kitchen and I don't want it above the stove.

Yes , this a very hard wood (Ipe) and can be used in most locations. Like all wood floors, it can not be wet for long or it will buckle.
With respect to the size of the planks...how did you plan the floor? It looks like you planned the "2 point"
The herringbone pattern wooden flooring looks amazing. This looks great in house which have a good length to them. Also ones with wide corridors are well suited for this flooring. It fits perfectly on the above image. Thanks for sharing.

It is a Hickory hardwood flooring. I am attaching two images with the same type of hardwood flooring having a decorative medallion installed.
Floor looks more like Hickory without a stain.

This is a photoshop image..I have seen this kitchen with at least 10 different floors.
I believe this was hardwood, but today's vinyl plank flooring looks so real it's hard to tell.
The floor may be porcelain "wood" tile ? It's gorgeous !
The floor looks a lot like Black Walnut, prefinished. Here are some similar floors that were site finished.
This was a photo shoot at an outside studio and I do not have the kitchen dimensions. I can answer any questions about the cabinetry or handles that you might have.

What kind of floor is this?
An engineered floor will be much more stable than a solid floor. Just make sure you buy an American made engineered floor. The quality truly is better. Let me know if you have any flooring questions. joel@oakandbroad.com
This floor is engineered oak that is stuck to a floor screed, with underfloor
It looks like Black Walnut with a whitewash or pickled/fumed finish. Here is a regular walnut floor floor for comparison.
