known as rough horsetail, scouring rush, and scouringrush horsetail; and in South Africa as snake grass. This plant is very invasive. I have seen it grow between cracks in pavement. Cut it to the ground to prune it. It looks awful hedged.

What kind of dwarf orange trees are these? My research shows that these trees only grow well in full sun.
but the fruit around it is abundant. If citrus isn't an option in your area, look for other dwarf fruit trees or turn the surrounding space into a vegetable extravaganza, with lettuces and other cool-season plants near the tree and the sun lovers out at the edges.
