but also us the epoxy on other pieces. I never use the resin to coat an entire piece because I don't like the look. However, it does help protect a painting from the elements. I asked from paint shop how to cover a bench that is year-round outdoors. They suggested tinted primer to be covered with colorless boat-varnish. It did last for solid 10 years of snow and rain
