We are designing a screen porch/ sunroom addition to our home in northeast ny with a fireplace at one end similar to yours. I prefer wood burning but am finding that code / cost issues limit us to gas fireplace. Is this a masonry wood burning fireplace and if so is it required to go

I dont recall the brand of the fireplace. We purchased it thru Fireside Hearth & Home. They have units available. We did have to modify and build a rear plate for it to protect the internals from the elements.
The fireplace is actually gas, so draw isn't important

does the seating face away from the fireplace?
Why was the sofa placed in front of fireplace? For the photo? Seems bad placement to me.
Good question. I'll tell you why the sofa is away from the fireplace. This is a great idea I fear to use. The fireplace in all homes takes away a wall, uses too much space. This a low sofa and fireplace shows. My own would hide fireplace. Love this for space saving and looks.
