heavy rain at times and need to consider water run off on my second floor wood decking.

Is Ipe more or less expensive than going with a composite decking like Trex
like plain deck; chicken wire/decking to keep out skunks?

Difference in color vertical vs. decking
Natural redwood deck - w/o sealer
Wood decking. And a wood deck is much more inviting than one made of a composite material. Each board will weather at its own pace and take on that patina that says, "Come, sit here and enjoy the view."

food did you use for the ceiling outside? Does it let water thru?
Can you tell me approximately how wide the deck is please?
Can you please tell me the material used for the flooring of the deck?
you are asking. The wood is douglas fir, in a tongue and groove profile board both inside and out. On the inside it is the ceiling finish and on the outside it becomes the soffit finish. Water does not come through as the roof is above.
large windows - deck along lakeside
Fire place and deck outside main bedroom
Off the master bedroom and surrounded by leafy trees, this narrow deck is an ideal spot for stargazing — especially when the fire’s lit. Tongue and groove Douglas fir extends from the bedroom’s ceiling to the outside soffit

I am deciding between a deck vs a patio. Which do you prefer?
Love the multi-hued deck! Sure would appreciate it if you would share the brand/color of the exterior stains
Love the multi-hued deck! Sure would appreciate it if you would list the brand(s) and colors of the various exerior stains. Thank you:)
Did this Ipe deck experience cupping and unevenness?
room around 10-12 inches you have plenty of room for a deck. You just want to be mindful that whatever you choose is not creating more labor (which ups the cost) than would be required for the other option. In short don't put a patio where a deck should be or vice versa. Good luck and have fun

Questions6
What material is this deck made from and the stain color?
Different floors inside and outside the patio. Tall ceilings, open spaces.
I think this concept of having a wooden deck outside of a tiled area with similar colored beams going over it looks really nice and is also easier to maintain.

This is a very attractive deck/step design. How did you construct it?
I have a modest level of carpentry skills. How difficult is this project on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being not difficult at all and 10 being very difficult? I hope to replace a deck on my daughter's house with a similar design
a bit of engineering planning to calculate the cantilevers! I also drew out a framing sketch first. Once it was drawn out, it required only typical deck-building skills. joe
That kind of deck is interesting, and the material for the house.
Deck parkdale - love the layers
Consider how it will look. When adding a deck, it’s best to consider the style and architecture of your house so that the addition either blends in with or at least complements your home. A trained professional will be best suited to make recommendations on deck style, materials, color and more.

What species/stain is the wood deck?
The decking is Yellow stringybark timber with Cutek clear stain.
Quite simple, it's a deck, not a floor so it has 5-8mm gaps between each timber allowing water to fall to the ground. Regulations are very different for decks rather than paving which allows you to have a level floor and a better finish
Quite simply, the deck has 5 - 8mm gaps between each board allowing water to fall straight through to the ground below.
