“Where does the fireplace chimney go? How high up is in past what we can see in the picture? Is this a covered structure behind the house?”
“This fireplace is a direct vent-- with no flue. Many gas-burning outdoor fireplaces are direct vent with no flue needed. The brick "chimney" is really just decorative, and ends into the underside of the ceiling you see in the picture. Above the ceiling is actually an extension of the second floor living”
