bought our house 20 years ago, and they were already in the kitchen. Our door handles are exactly the same as this picture. The steel hinges are beginning to rust, and the finish is thinning from cleaning. They are still shiny. Any advice you can give will be appreciated!

It's long-plank fir (which is right for the period of the house but extremely soft -- wouldn't be my first choice if we weren't trying to match the rest of the house.) Finish is Minwax Puritan
